Welcome to our Home
“Children and young people are settled and happy and usually stay in this home for a long time. They view it as their home. Children and young people speak positively about the home. One young person said, “The staff are great listeners, helpful, kind, have chats if you’re uncomfortable about something. They are nice people who make sure you are happy.‟

Our Facilities
Highfield is a detached property set in a semi-rural location in the village of Brotton in the east of the borough of Redcar and Cleveland and only 2 miles from Saltburn-by-the-sea, a fine seafront destination with a beautiful beach and a wide range of activities available, including surfing. There are a good variety of services including shops, a library, and leisure centre with gym and swimming pool. Located on the Tees Valley Line, Saltburn has excellent links to local and national rail services, and both Brotton and Saltburn are served by frequent bus services.
“Children and young people are able to build trusting and secure relationships with the staff at the home…

The staff invest time in the children and young people and promote their welfare at all times. This helps children and young people to invest in the home and feel secure in their permanent placement.
Young people’s meetings give them the opportunity to voice their views and contribute to the decision-making in the home. This allows children and young people a voice and they feel heard by the staff.”
Downstairs the home has an entrance hall, a reception/dining room, lounge, conservatory, kitchen, toilet, and staff office. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms for young people.
“Bedrooms are personalised and children and young people are encouraged to help choose the colour scheme for other communal areas of the home. This is a homely home, which does not stand out in its environment, and the interior is well kept, clean and in no way institutional.”
